Top Three Games?

I've been asked a few times what my three favorite games of ALL TIME are. Today, I'll tell you them, and give some categories and rank them 1-10. After multiple categories, I will announce my favorite game of all time.

The three games ARE:
Team Fortress 2 (Steam page HERE)
Bastion
Terraria (Steam page HERE)

Before I got the Humble Indie Bundle V*, my favorite games did not include Bastion. My fourth favorite would probably be Poker Night at the Inventory.

*The Fifth installment of the Humble Indie Bundle expired after 6/14/12

Now, for the categories.

-Gameplay
-Quality (Graphics)
-Comedy
-Story/How it comes together (In this case, Terraria and TF2 don't have a story, but Bastion does)
-Enjoyment

I will rate them 1-10.

1: Worst thing in the world. Never, just...I don't...no. Don't even...just...
2: Really dang bad.
3: Needs a LOT of fixing up.
4:  Not the worst thing in the world, but it need a bunch of work.
5: Adequate, but needs work.
6: Above average. The developers did good here, but it could be better.
7: Now it's getting good...
8: Good job on this section!
9: Purely amazing, but nothing's perfect...right? RIGHT?!
10: Perfect.

Gameplay; Terraria - Terraria is a great game with smooth movement. There is no story to this game, as it is a simple sandbox. It is Two-Dimensional, but that doesn't mean it's bad! The gameplay is great. You start out in the day time with only a bronze shortsword, a bronze pickaxe and a bronze hatchet. You need to mine for different ores to get better tiers of armour and weapons. There are also three bosses. Wait, no. There was an update, and there are now EIGHT BOSSES! It's overall a great game with gameplay, with hardly any glitches. There ARE, however, glitches from time to time. For example, the lighting may start to have problems, and in very rare cases during multiplayer, there may be a spike in lag which causes a HUGE GAPING HOLE to spawn, and you rapidly fall to the bottom of the underworld. Gameplay = 8/10

Gameplay; Team Fortress 2 - This game is a first person shooter, like COD or MW. It's not just another, crappy shooter, though. You have NINE CLASSES to choose from! Yeah, NINE! Each class starts out with basic weapons, but you can unlock new ones as you progress through the game! Plus, it's FUNNY! Games can get glitched, and serves do crash, though. Also, another problem is Mic-Spammers. Good features from this? Mute button ;D Gameplay = 7/10

Gameplay; Bastion - I didn't think this game was going to be too good -- Until I got it. This game is BRILLIANT. I'd have to say I wouldn't be able to play this without the narrator. His voice is...I...it's just...PERFECT FOR THE ROLE. It's astonishing. If I were rating these on sounds, Bastion would get an eleven. The game is absolutely amazing. You need to save your "Town" that is called a Bastion. It was destroyed in a calamity, and you need to get cores to put in your monument to restore it. One problem, you bring home someone who works on destroying the monument. After he breaks a lot of it off, you need to get Shards in order to restore the Bastion. I won't spoil any more, but there were NO problems in this gameplay! IT WAS PERFECT! Gameplay = 10/10

Quality; Terraria - Terraria has nice quality. I prefer platformer games like this over games like Minecraft. I really can't stand the 3D with all the pixels, I find it to be a bit lazy, but that's just me. Quality = 8/10

Quality; Team Fortress 2 - TF2 is, once again, a First Person Shooter. It's got the graphics of COD, but better. It is Three-Dimensional, but in this case, I like it, because the pixels aren't as large as my pupil. It's a game that is easy to enjoy the quality of. Quality = 7/10

Quality; Bastion - The quality of this game is good. It has smooth images, and everything runs steadily. I especially enjoy the fact that the ground forms beneath your feet. It's a nice touch to the game, and I find the quality to be nice. Quality = 8/10

MAN! That's a lot of typing for 30 minutes. Wow, and three more categories. Well, I'd better start! Before that, I'll do an overview.

Terraria; Total (So far) - 16/20
TF2; Total (So far) - 14/20
Bastion; Total (So far) - 18/20

It looks like Bastion defeats the other two overall, SO FAR. Things can always change.

Comedy; Terraria - As I've said before, Terraria is just a normal platformer, so it doesn't have a narrator, therefore it can't have TOO much comedy. However, based on what it gives you, it's pretty funny. In some cases, names of monsters you have to fight can be comedic. A lot of times, the monsters themselves can look...awkward...For example, the Wyvern actually SMILES! I find that pretty funny. Comedy = 7.5/10

Comedy; Team Fortress 2 - TF2 is basically revolving around the comedic factor. All nine classes have something funny to say. Even their accents make what they say, possibly even something normal, to be funny! For example, when you play as the Medic, he talks with a German accent. He often calls people "Dummkopf." When playing Heavy, he has a Russian accent, and when he screams "YAAAAA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA" It makes me laugh. Comedy = 9/10

Comedy; Bastion - Bastion wasn't really built all that much for comedy. It's actually more of a serious game, especially near the end. It has its funny moments, though, just not all that many of them. The narrator says a few things that I laughed at, so I can't give it a 1 for comedy! Comedy = 5.5/10

How it Comes Together; Terraria -  Terraria is a sandbox game. A lot of people think sandbox games are pointless and you don't do anything fun in them. WRONG. This game has a brilliant design and is a masterpiece. It comes together great. You need to continue to get the next tier of ore to progress farther into the game, and in some cases, you need a certain tier of ore just to mine out another ore! HiCT = 9/10

How it Comes Together; Team Fortress 2 - In TF2, like other First Person Shooters, has elements that some people like, and some people don't. The game comes together quite nicely, and with all the updates that it gets, it keeps getting better! HiCT = 7/10

Story; Bastion - The story in Bastion is amazing, and it's actually quite touching, near the end especially. I hate this section in the article, actually, because I don't really want to give anything away! I'll just rate it.
Story = 8.5/10

Finally, the last category.

Enjoyment; Terraria - Terraria is such an amazingly designed game, that it's very hard not to enjoy, unless you're one of those...I shouldn't say that... one of those people who think it's a rip-off of Minecraft. First, IT'S NOT, and second, Terraria has so much to do that people who haven't had the game for multiple months still are discovering things! Enjoyment = 9.5/10

Enjoyment; Team Fortress 2 - TF2 does get updates, yes, but the games can get exceedingly boring, unless you have some weird guy on your server who starts screaming for his mommy over the voice chat every time he dies. Sadly, TF2 only gets: Enjoyment = 6/10

Enjoyment; Bastion - As this blog post FINALLY comes to an end, I'll explain why Bastion is in my top three favorite games of all time. You start out waking up from a calamity. You run over and find a hammer, which you start smashing stuff with. You're kind of like The Hulk. Anyway, you then find a repeater, which shoots stuff...duh...anyway, THEN, after fighting stuff, and falling to your death, you reach the Bastion. You go through rigorous courses where you need to gather other materials like Cores and Shards to fix the Bastion from the calamity. Along the way, you find OTHER weapons! You can upgrade all the weapons you find, and train with them at proving grounds. You can also activate gods, which is for advanced players if you want a challenge! The game is brilliant, so I give it a 10/10.

Now, for the moment of truth. If we add all of them together, we get...

Overall; Terraria - 42/50!
Overall; Team Fortress 2 - 36/50!
Overall; Bastion - 42/50!

Wait, there's a TIE?? Oh man...well, my official third favorite game of ALL TIME is Team Fortress 2. It's absolutely FREE in the Steam store, so go pick it up today!

Hm, now what do I do for this? Another category? I think I shall.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Value, Cost; Terraria - Terraria is only $10 in the Steam store, but it is yet to be in the Humble Bundle. I'd say it is definitely worth the $10, and the most I would pay (BEFORE I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE GAME) for it would be $20. So for Terraria, I would give it a 200%.

Value, Cost; Bastion - Bastion was in the Humble Bundle V, which expired on June 14th, 2012 (The day this was published) You only needed to pay above the average to get it, so I paid $10. It is $15 in the Steam store, and the most I would have paid (BEFORE I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE GAME) would be $25. I'd give it 166%, then.

I would still only pay a maximum of $20 for Terraria, but if I had played Bastion before I got it, I probably would have paid somewhere around $35-40, which is more than double the price, but since I'm going by the first option, it looks like we have a winner!

My third favorite game of all time is Team Fortress 2! Great, first person shooter with lots of comedy involved, as well as a TON of players, making the game even more enjoyable!

My second favorite game of all time is Bastion! This game has SUCH a great story, with amazing graphics, some emotion involved, and even the most amazing voice I've EVER heard for a narrator...EVER! I definitely recommend this game, especially for only $15! You get hours of enjoyment, and if you choose correctly, you can start a "New Game+" which only occurs after you beat the game once, but you can start over with all your stats and weapons from the previous game!

My FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME is TERRARIA! An amazing sandbox game with great effects going on, and extremely well developed characters, world maps, and just a lot of detail! There are mods that can be added on to your Terraria game, like the Zelda mod, where you play basically as Link from The Legend of Zelda! Even though there can be bugs, it doesn't happen often, and the game is absolutely terrific. There are also multiple biomes, but I won't get TOO in-depth with that. The game is only $10, and I absolutely recommend it for ANYONE who enjoys sandbox games. Even if you don't like them, it's a great game. Did I mention that the soundtrack is awesome?
